LAHORE: The Ministry of Education has decided to open educational institutions from June 1. According to the report of Express News, the Ministry of Education has decided to open all schools, colleges and universities across Punjab from June 1. Preparation of standard procedure has been started in this regard. Schools will be open from 7 am to 11 pm. There will be no break for assembly and entertainment in the morning and these hours will continue till August 14.
School hours will be resumed as usual from August 15. New admissions in all government schools from Katchi to VIII are also being started from June 1. It has also been decided to take the Matriculation Intermediate examinations in June. The hours of primary schools will be less than those of high schools.
Evening hours for double shift schools will also be four hours.
It may be recalled that educational institutions across the province are closed due to the lockdown. Channel was established. During the lockdown in collaboration with Allama Iqbal Open University and Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV), the channel is going to provide school environment to the children in their homes.
The student said that under no circumstances will the children’s year be wasted. Open University will provide studios, technical, editing and production support while PTV will provide eight hours of air time to promote education under this channel. Time will tell. Prof. Dr. Zia-ul-Qayyum said that this is a good initiative of the government to save the year of the children and the Open University is ready to extend all possible cooperation for this national cause. He said that the available resources of the university would be utilized for this purpose.
